How to read a conversion like a trader, not a tourist
A conversion number is only useful when you know what sits underneath it. Three habits separate people who keep their margin from people who donate it. First, know your rate source: our figures track the global reference market. A Lagos P2P quote will differ — usually by a small premium that widens on weekends and during naira stress. If the P2P offer sits far from the reference, negotiate or wait. Second, convert before you move, not after: check what your coins are worth, subtract the expected network fee for the coin you are moving (each pair page lists the fee reality), and only then commit. Third, sanity-check unit bias: SHIB at a fraction of a kobo per coin is not "cheaper" than BTC in any meaningful sense — what matters is how much total value you hold, which is exactly the number this converter gives you.
NGN, USD, and the rate in between
Every crypto-to-naira conversion quietly contains a second conversion: dollars to naira. Global markets price coins in USD; the naira figure depends on which USD/NGN rate the data uses. That is why two apps can show different BTC-to-NGN numbers at the same moment and both be "right" — they disagree about the dollar, not about Bitcoin. When precision matters (large transfers, OTC deals), always confirm the dollar rate your counterparty applies. For everyday sizing, our live reference is what you want: consistent, neutral and refreshed continuously.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this crypto converter?
Rates come live from CoinGecko’s aggregated market data and refresh in your browser. They are reference rates — accurate for planning, but your exchange or P2P counterparty sets the final execution price, which typically sits within a few percent of the reference.
Can I convert crypto to naira directly here?
This tool converts values, not funds. It tells you what your coins are worth in NGN or USD; to actually swap coins for naira you need an exchange or P2P platform. Knowing the fair reference rate first is exactly how you avoid a bad P2P quote.
Which coins does the converter support?
Twelve of the coins Nigerians trade most: BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, XRP, ADA, DOGE, TRX, LTC, SHIB and PI. Each also has a dedicated pair page with deeper context — fees, common mistakes and coin-specific FAQs.
Why do you show both NGN and USD?
Because Nigerian traders think in both. The dollar figure anchors you to the global market; the naira figure is what lands in your bank account. Watching both protects you from confusing coin performance with naira depreciation.
Does the converter work offline?
Once the page has loaded, the math runs entirely on your device using the last fetched rates. You will see slightly stale prices until the connection returns, but the tool keeps working.
